A host of Olympic and paralympic athletes are set to return to a national sporting scheme for young people offering up-and-coming athletes across Slough with specialised mentoring to take their careers to the next level.
This comes as professional athletes get ready to take on the Olympics and Paralympics this year in Paris.
The Everyone Active’s Sporting Scheme is a renowned programme which empowers aspiring athletes to unlock their full potential by offering state-of-the-art facilities and support from professional athletes.
Relaunching this month, the renowned programme empowers aspiring athletes to unlock their full potential by offering access to state-of-the-art training facilities and mentoring support from Olympians and Paralympians.
It is available in Langley Leisure Centre, Slough Ice Arena and The Centre (Slough), run in partnership with Slough Borough Council.
For 2024, the legendary Colin Jackson, Olympic 110m hurdles silver medallist and former world record holder, returns as the scheme's Ambassador.
Colin said: "I'm passionate about nurturing young talent and the Sporting Champions scheme goes above and beyond in this mission.
“With the Olympics and Paralympics taking place in Paris this summer, the programme takes on even greater significance in 2024. Seeing these future champions flourish fuels my excitement for what's to come."
